HIRES retrieves IRAS raw scan data and then employs the Maximum Correlation Method to construct resolution-enhanced coadded images. HIRES default images have 2 arcminute resolution (compared to 4 arcminute ISSA images), and the algorithm allows for iteration that can achieve well below 1 arcminute resolution, depending on factors such as wavelength, slew rate, and survey coverage.
