NED 2021 Release Highlights

In 2021, NED had six releases. Here are highlights from the November and December releases and links to the other four releases.

December 2021 Release Highlights

  • Batch job status reports are updated to more accurately reflect the processing stages: accepted → waiting → running → complete.
  • Display formatting is improved in NED abstracts, batch job status reports, and some error messages.
  • Some backend system components and services are updated.

November 2021 Release Highlights

  • The Chandra Source Catalog (CSC 2.0.1), with over 317K unique X-ray sources, has been integrated into NED. Details can be found here.
  • 989K new object links (pointers) were added to over a thousand new references.
  • 323K new sources from the literature were cross-identified with NED objects.
  • 5.3 million new photometric data points have been integrated into SEDs.
