Title: Advancing the Inclusion Revolution
Abstract: The ASTRO Decadal Surveys are important to the culture of our field. They affirm our values - what is deemed an important part of scientific merit - and our cultural norms - how we plan to accomplish our science over the next decade - both internally, to our own community, and externally, to the federal agencies. While these days we don’t think of the Decadals as having the agency for cultural change, they certainly have in the past by enabling and expanding opportunities for the broader community of researchers to do their science by providing them with access to the necessary tools. In this talk, I will highlight how we can advance ‘Research Inclusion’ through both advisory and data access. Key to supporting access is the regular review of policies, as well as, vigilance in affirming support for better diversity, equity and inclusion practices.
