IPAC, located on the Caltech campus, is not under direct threat from local fires at this time, though it is subject to the effects of strong winds and poor air quality. Many members of the IPAC community have been impacted by these events, and IPAC will follow Caltech guidance on closures and safe operations. Kartik Sheth (NRAO) ---- The Evolution of Stellar Structure in Galaxies as Seen by S4G

January
29
S M T W T F S

I will describe the latest results from the Spitzer Survey of Stellar Structure of Galaxies (S4G) focusing specifically on the new result that the bar fraction as a function of galaxy mass is consistent with previous cosmological results from the COSMOS survey, but at odds with other local studies. I will also discuss the structure of bars in this context and provide an update on the role of bars in feeding black holes and initiating star formation activity in disks. I will also update the audience on the new Cycle 10 Spitzer survey called "ETGs: Not Dead Yet!"
