The following parameters must be entered for each observation within an AOT CAMO1:

• BEAM : selects the channel (SW or LW), but also the large or the small Fabry mirror (small one recommended with PFOV = 1.5 arcsec and in some cases with PFOV = 3 arcsec, see section ):

  BEAM = SW-l SW channel + large Fabry mirror.
  BEAM = SW-s SW channel + small Fabry mirror.
  BEAM = LW-l LW channel + large Fabry mirror.
  BEAM = LW-s LW channel + small Fabry mirror.

• PFOV = 1.5, 3, 6 or 12 (arc sec.).
• FLTR_CVF: selection of a Filter or of a CVF segment:

  FLTR_CVF = 1 to 11 selects a filter in channel SW.
  FLTR_CVF = 14 selects CVFSW in channel SW.
  FLTR_CVF = 1 to 10 selects a filter in channel LW.
  FLTR_CVF =11 or 12 selects CVFLW1 or CVFLW2 in channel LW.

• CVF_LAMB = the requested central wavelength (in micron) of the selected CVF segment:

  2.273 5.122 for FLTR_CVF = 14 (SW).
  4.956 9.583 for FLTR_CVF = 11 (LW).
  9.003 16.52 for FLTR_CVF = 12 (LW).

  Note that if CVF_LAMB was not taken in the second column of Table to , the system will automatically set the wheel to the closest achievable value of .

• XTRA_SW = request for the FLASH-MODE with SW channel. In this mode, must be 30 and must be 20s.
• T_INT = in second, the elementary exposure time:

  SW : 0.28, 2, 6, 20, 60. (Note: for XTRA_SW mode, choose 20)
  LW : 0.28, 2, 5, 10, 20.

• ADC_GAIN = electronic gain of the amplifier:

  2, SW channel.
  1, 2 or 4, LW channel.

• ORDER : a sequence containing 1 to 4 of the following commands of OPERATIONS, the order in the sequence is the Observer's choice:

  OBS = request of the observation in the selected configuration, on a single pointing or the complete raster.
  CAL = request for a calibration with the ICD.
  DARK = request for a dark frame measurement.
  CLEAN = request for a CLEAN procedure.
  OBS is obviously mandatory, the three others are optional. In single pointing the user should select DARK in order to process the data. CLEAN has no effect for SW.

  A flat-field and a dark frame are mandatory for processing each observation. If for an observation they are not produced by an OPERATION, the system will first scan the list of observations of the AOT looking for these frames generated in an identical configuration, if they are not found, a library frame will be used automatically.

• PROC_CAL : the observer can request a flat-field measurement with the filter selected (see section and ).
• PROC_DRK : if DRK is requested, the observer specifies the number of the selected procedure for the DRK OPERATION (see Tables and , in section ).
• PROC_CLN : if observing with the LW detector, the observer can ask for a clean procedure to be applied (see section ).
• N_STAB = = number of stabilization exposures before a single pointing observation, or before the first point of the raster (Note: for XTRA_SW mode, N_STAB is irrelevant).
• N_EXPOS = = number of exposures needed to attain the required S/N ratio, on a single pointing, or at each pointing of the raster (Note: for XTRA_SW mode, choose 30).
