LIA Bugs: Details & Fixes
NOTE: When an updated routine
is available, it will include all improvements previously implemented.
In some cases a bug has been spotted but the fix is not yet implemented:
the status of bug fixing status is also shown.

April 27, 1998 -IA_ABSCORR
In case of more than 2 Illuminator Flashes during
an AOT, the two Absolute Correction Factors shown in the text fields under
'OLP used ...' do not refer to the two opaque flashes done at the beginning
and at the end of each AOT (as they should); they instead erroneously refer
to the first opaque and first non-opaque flash. If the user estimates his
own correction factors then there is no problem. If, on the other hand,
the user wants to adopt for the second flash the value under 'OLP used...',
the wrong value will be picked (corresponding to the second flash and not
to the second OPAQUE flash). The latest version of IA_ABSCORR that can
be downloaded (see below), incorporates this fix.
Fixed in LIA 7.1

April 30, 1998 - IA_DARK, IA_ABSCORR
The two routines are now retaining the information on
the 'groups' found in the data. For instance, in an LWS01 AOT a 'group'
is a series of scans contained among two illuminator flashes (not necessarily
opaque). Previous versions of IA_DARK and IA_ABSCORR did not take this
into account and could have produced unreliable results. This version of
IA_DARK also contains two minor updates: 1) the interpolated dark current
is now shown as a solid red line and 2) a label is attached to each detector
button reminding the user if a subtraction has been done or not. Button
labels range from L1 to L4 for the four options available under 'Linear
Interpolation,' and from P1 to P3 for three orders available under polynomial
fitting.
Fixed in LIA 7.1
-
May, 1998 - FP_PROC
The routine is not applying the velocity correction for
the spacecraft motion, and does not recognize raster maps.
Fixed in LIA 7.1
-
June, 1998 - IA_DARK
The routine is occasionally (and erroneously)
including, in the dark current estimate, some points pertaining to the
dark measurement after the flash.
Fixed in LIA 7.1
-
April, 1998 - IA_DARK
The 3rd order polynomial fits to dark current values
fails under ISAP 1.5, due to a precision problem under IDL 5.0.3
and higher versions.

January, 1999
Following ISAP 1.6a release, it
was realized that LIA 7.2 will not work if the full ISAP 1.6a installation
is made. The LIA version 7.2a should be downloaded and installed.
Please note that LIA 7.2a is not an upgrade of version 7.2 in terms
of functionalities and data processing; the two versions do not differ
but for minor details concerning startup definitions and compatibility
with ISAP 1.6a. In other words, if you already processed your data
using LIA 7.2, you do not need to reprocess them with version 7.2a.
Fixed in LIA 7.2a
