LIA 7.3 - Changes since LIA 7.2a
-
FP Processing using the FP_PROC procedure
-
In LIA 7.2a ground measurements of FP transmission and resolution were
used to fully calibrate the observed signal from photocurrent (Amperes)
to Flux units (Watts/cm^2/micron). LIA 7.3, however, uses LWS calibration
observations of Mars to perform the throughput correction. The throughput
is defined to be the product of the FP transmission and the FP resolution
element as a function of wavelength for both the short and long wavelength
FPs. New internal routine fp_fix used here.
-
FP data suffer from a component of straylight mixed in with the detector
dark currents. FP_PROC by default subtracts the minimum dark current as
determined from a series of dedicated measurements. The true dark current
and straylight component lies somewhere between this standard value and
the dark current as measured during the actual observation itself. At present
it is not possible to know in advance what this 'true' value is. To facilitate
this task, FP_PROC now has the option of allowing the user to display full
grating scan data (AOT LWS01) on top of the FP data for the source in question.
Of course this assumes that the user observed his/her source with the grating
as well as the FP.
-
Command line keyword /drift included so as to allow the responsivity drift
correction for L03 non-raster AOTs. New internal routine called fix_resp_drift
used to correct the lspd data.
-
LIA version displayed on all widgets and also written to the output lsan
header.
-
New calibration file: lctp.fits - Contains the coefficients for performing
the FP throughput corrections
-
Other LIA routines:
-
LIA version number displayed on widgets for all GUI or plot based routines
(i.e. INSPECT_ABS, INSPECT_DRIFT, INSPECT_IPD, INSPECT_RASTER, INSPECT_RSRF
and INSPECT_SPD).
-
The command line keyword /hardcopy introduced to INSPECT_ABS, INSPECT_DRIFT,
INSPECT_IPD and INSPECT_RASTER to allow PostScript plot file generation.
-
The CALC_ERRORS routine, used for estimating the uncertainty in grating
spectra, now displays the LIA version on the screen. Bug fix to ensure
only closed flashes are used to estimate the uncertainty in the absolute
correction factor.
-
In SHORT_AAL the LIA version is written into the output lsan header. Bug
fix to ensure that the lsca file is only opened when the photometric flag
is not set and the AOT is L01.
-
Extended functionality of the /update keyword in IA_DARK. If you now want
to improve the DC subtraction for, say, 1 detector, you do not have to
do the job all over again also for the rest of the detectors.
